Skilled workforce continues to be a top priority for employers throughout Alabama. A high quality workforce is the Sylacauga area's best long-term economic development strategy. In 2021, the Sylacauga Chamber of Commerce partnered with Sylacauga Alliance for Family Enhancement (SAFE) to move our region's Workforce Forward. 

To begin this movement, a Workforce Community Forum was hosted in April 2021 to initiate a conversation between the community's employers, workforce development providers, and service connectors in order to better understand the availability and impact of workforce development programs in Central Alabama. Josh Laney, Executive Director of Alabama Office Apprenticeship guided the conversation and led participants to share their needs and opinions on how we move our local Workforce Forward. A published document of the conversation will be available by the end of May 2021.
