September 10th Margaret Hoelzer- Three time Olympic medalist in the 2008 Beijing Games visits Sylacauga September 10, 2008 as she makes her rounds across the country speaking to children, signing autographs, and posing for pictures.

Saturday, May 17th at Lake Howard - the Chamber & Parks and Rec sponsored our annual Fishing Derby in Cooperation with the Forestry Service. Thanks to the generous donation from these organizations and gifts from Blue Bell, Wal-Mart & Pete's, the Kids enjoyed a beautiful day of fishing on the lake with lots of goodies, too! There was also a visit from Smokey the Bear!

Foote Brothers hosted a Business After Hours on May 8th to showcase their new line of stressless furniture by Ekornes. Guests were treated to a buffet of fine cheeses, salmon and other delicacies.
